Club On! Rugby Off!

Unfortunately due to the cold weather a decision has been made to cancel the planned 'Predators vs Parents' game on the beach tomorrow. However, that does not stop us from meeting at the Club.

We will go ahead as planned with some hotdogs, soup & a roll, music and possibly a small treat. It would be great to see everyone before Xmas. See you all at the club from 12.00pm!

Sunday 5th Dec - Uplands Away 10.30am meet.

Uplands have been in touch and will be inspecting their pitches later this afternoon. At the moment the games are on. Keep an eye on the blog for updates up to 9.15am Sunday.

Thank you to the mums and dads who made the Thursday meet! Also to the new volunteers with the jobs that were up for grabs. We will find time to update all the notes made from the meet to keep everyone that didn't make it in the loop. One of the issues discussed was our lack of kitty funds so parents attended agreed that a £10 donation the Kitty would give it a little kick start for Christmas party funds etc until we get some sponsorship for winter/summer kit etc next season. Hope this is OK with everyone. Please can you pass the cash to Tracy or Tim ( our new treasurer) over the next two meets!

C U All Sunday with plenty on layers for the predators! Jon.

Parents & Coach Christmas Meeting - This Thursday 2nd Dec- Mumbles RFC

Well done to all the predators, who trained very well in the cold cold conditions this weekend. As usual the pred's did themselves very proud especially with some very cold hands and steamy breathing on what was the coldest day to practice this year.

We did plan this week to speak to all Mums & Dads regarding the next few weeks and 2011, however as you are aware it was extremely cold and a few were not available this week.

Tony,Chris, David and Myself have decided to meet up for a Christmas beer this week, and would like to invite all the mums and dads for a Christmas shandy!! We would also like to take the opportunity to talk about whats in store for the predators over the next few weeks fixtures, kids christmas party, parents & friends match and fundraising for 2011.

So it would be great (even if you can't stay for a beer , for each predator to have either mum, dad (or both ) or guardian, present for the meeting!!

Mumbles RFC - Thursday 2nd Dec.- 7.30pm . C U ALL THEN, Jon.

Match Report - Swansea Uplands - 9th October 2010

Mumbles Predators 4 v Swansea Uplands 5

Very unlucky today for the Predators after a hard fought battle at Swansea Uplands. Well done to all players, everybody tried very hard and demonstrated fantastic behaviour on and off the pitch amongst some very good young players at the Uplands.

Well done for some great scores to James B (1) James P (2) & Kyanni who scored 1 try but could have had a bag full! On this subject, today we were held up by some "by the book" refereeing decisions, however as discussed with the Predators post match, this is a sign of things to come as each side gets more skillfull.

Welcome to Oliver who signed up today and made his debut and demonstrated some great passing and tagging. All other players worked very hard and Tony, Chris, David and I were very proud of you all in a testing match! Keep it up!

Please keep your eye on the blog for details of this coming Sunday.

Match Reports 25th September 2010

Mumbles 11 v South Gower 7

Well done to Mumbles Predators for what I think you will all agree was the best performance so far this season. The Grand total of 11 tries was a grand result against a strong south gower side who also bagged 7 tries. James B gets the award for the best "Shane Williams" of the day scoring 2 tries. Other scores came from Rees M (1), Will (2), Josa (1), James P(1), Louis(1) & a Torin Hatrick of 3 tries. Also other highlights was some great tagging from Daffyd, RhysT, Ethan & Joshua. Well Done all players with great passing, staying in lines and channels.

Match Report: Tracy
On Feild Coach : Jon
Subs : David

Mumbles 8 v Dunvant 4

After such a great performance in the first match it seemed inevitable with some tired legs that the second game would be a little scrappy with both teams knocking on a fair bit of possession. However the predators dug deep and mustered another eight scores the highlights coming from Rhys T, Daffyd, James P & Will, all getting on the score sheet twice. All other players showed some great defence and getting six tags to force turnovers which ultimately won us the game.
Well Done All!

Rugby Fun Day

Our first ever Rugby Fun Day was a great success. Feedback was very positive and we are sure it will be an annual event.

The Predators, following a short warm-up and refresher course, played a game against Gowerton who had been in training for 3 weeks. A close game was followed by signed photos and a team photo with Osprey's Captain Alun Wyn Jones and Welsh International Jonathan Thomas.

The day included a mini rugby festival, a kicking competition, tug-of-war, soak-the-coach stocks, face painting, bouncy castle, BBQ (organised by the 1st Team), small licensed bar and an ice cream man.

We hope to see you there again next year. Spread the word!
