Swimming at Gondre

I have just found out the pool is definitely out of action at Gondre.

They have given us options i.e. use the indoor pool at their sister Campsite circa 10 mins drive - directions at reception for no charge, or

Go to Aqua Adventure (www.bluelagoonwales.com) also circa 10 mins drive - open Saturday 10.00-19.00. Standard entry for low season is £6/person for a 3 hour session. A family ticket for 4 is £22 for a 3 hours session. Under 4yrs are £2 which includes a swim nappy.

Narberth & Burry Port Pink & Wig Tour.

Hope you are all ready for the Narberth & Burry Port pink and wig tour.!! In general please plan for a  family weekend away, take items that you would normally take camping or on a short break. On Saturday & Sunday night we will be organising a group BBQ/Curry (bring a bottle or two), however food will not be provided at other times so remember to stock up on your treats and drinks etc for your caravan and tents. Alternatively there is pub grub on site and a shop selling basics.

The itinerary will be as below, I have tried to enclose as much information as I can, however nothing is compulsory (apart from the tour rules)  the main goal is to enjoy the weekend and have as much fun as possible for all.

Tour Rules will begin from 6pm on Friday night and end at  9pm on Sunday, after the kangaroo court. Gents you need to where something pink that is visible and ladies you need to wear a wig., All players will be wearing tour hoodies over the weekend plus collar and club tie on Sunday after the Narberth Game, these will be presented on Friday evening. So Predators please remember a white shirt to where after the Narberth game and enough rugby kit for the fixtures on Sunday & Monday.

Itinerary

Friday 4th - Check in the park after 4pm ( please let the park know if you plan to arrive after 5pm, we hope to arrive for 6.30pm. Grondre Holiday Park , Clunderwen,  SA66 7HD , tel 01437 563111.
7..30pm ---- Meet in Bar for player presentation & tour check in.

Saturday 5th - Enjoy free time at Gondre.

5.00pm ---- Predator Training (1 hr)

7.00pm ---- Coaches BBQ ( Hosted by Liz & Spencer on the camping field )

Sunday 6th - Narberth Rugby Club, Lewis-Lloyd Ground, Spring Gardens, Narberth, Pembrokeshire SA67 7BT. Tel: 01834 860462.

10.30am -- Meet at Narbeth Rugby Club ( allow 15 mins drive from Gondre ).

11.00am -- Mumbles Predators v Narbeth.

12.noon --- Enjoy Narbeth Rugby club ( Predators in Collar & Tie ).

6.00pm --- Player meet up at Gondre for Bar snack. ( Make a plan for BP tournament).

7.00pm --- Spencer's Curry Night ( Polish off the rest of the BBQ and sample Spencers curry!!!) & The Kangaroo Court.!!



Please remember to be packed and ready to go on Sunday night as we have an early start on Monday morning, registration is at 9.15 am sharp in Burry Port. You need to allow 1hr.15mins drive from Gondre to Burry Port.!!! Bring a seat, snacks and dress for the weather as we may be at the rugby festival for some time depending how the team gets on!!

Annual Mini and Juniors Rugby Festival Sunday 6th May – Monday 7th May 2012

On behalf of the Burry Port RFC Junior Section, we would like to invite your team to our Annual Junior Rugby Festival which will once again be held over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

The dates as follows:

Sunday 6th May 2012 – Juniors: U12’s, U13’s, U14’s, U15’s & U16’s
·        7’s format, each age group is entitled to enter a squad of a maximum of 12 registered players.

Monday 7th May 2012 – Mini’s: U8’s, U9’s, U10’s & U11’s
·        10 a side format, each age group is entitled to enter a squad of a maximum of 18 registered players.
·        This will be a round robin Festival in accordance with WRU guidelines.

Players who are not able to provide their official WRU ID Card on request will NOT, unfortunately, be allowed to participate.

Schedule & Rules:
Registration will close at 9.30am, the live draw to take immediately afterwards with the first matches to kick off at 10.30am prompt, this schedule will apply to both days. It should also be noted that all Referees will be neutral.

Please find attached full tournament rules which I would be grateful if you could ensure are viewed and distributed to all club coaches, and that all players and parents are fully aware of these, in advance of the tournament.

Please note that WRU Pathways Rules will apply and the WRU Pathway Overview is attached for reference.





General Entrance Fees :
·        Coaches: Free entry
·        Children: Free entry (for all players and spectators aged 16 years and under)
·        Spectators (17 years and over): £3.00 per person

2012 Festival Rules

1.           All non-playing squad members, parents and supporters must refrain from entering the playing area whilst games are in progress.
2.           Alcoholic drinks MUST NOT be consumed in the area surrounding the pitches. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave the field.
3.           Changing and shower facilities are available at the Club. There are only changing facilities adjacent to the fields.
4.           Burry Port RFC does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any items left unattended. This applies to all areas including the changing rooms, Club House or playing fields. Please look after your belongings and report any losses to the Festival Committee as soon as possible.
5.           The WRU Code of Conduct applies to all Players, Parents, Supporters and Officials. Please respect this and abide by this.
6.           Clubs must register all Players, using the Registration Form, prior to the Festival commencing. All Players must have a valid WRU Registration Card.
7.           Any Club found playing an over age player will have all their teams disqualified from the Festival.
8.           In the event of a tie (applicable for the Junior Festival only).
a.      Pool stages – The team with the greatest aggregate difference in points will be deemed the winner. Where there is no resolution, the team with the highest number of tries scored will be deemed the winner. If there is no winner, the result will be decided by the toss of a coin.
b.     Semi – Final / Final – A further 2 minutes shall be played with both teams reducing the size of the team by 1 player. If a tie still exists then the result will be decided by a toss of a coin.
9.           Points awarded (applicable for the Junior Festival only).
a.      Win – 2 points
b.     Draw – 1 point
c.     Lose – 0 points
d.     The six try rule applies
10.       All games will be 7 minutes each way with a 2 minute rest at half time. The Final will be 10 minutes each way with a 2 minute rest at half time.
11.       There will be no conversions in the Minis Festival and only in the final of the Junior Festival.
12.       In the event of a dispute, the matter will be referred to the Festival Committee. Their decision will be final.
13.       Where there is a clash of team colours, the Referee will decide which side will change shirts. His / her decision is final.
14.       Each competing team must provide a linesman and qualified first aider for each game.
15.       Under U12’s - U16’s
a.      Each age group is entitled to enter a squad of a maximum of 12 registered players.
16.       U8’s, U9’s, U10’s & U11’s
a.      Each age group is entitled to enter a squad of a maximum of 18 registered players.
17.       No player will be allowed to play for more than one team or age group. Clubs MUST NOT interchange players between squads. Any team doing so will be disqualified.
18.       All games will strictly follow the WRU Pathway. Copies are available on request.
19.       In the event of a Junior team withdrawing before completing their pool games, all of their games played in the Festival will be forfeited and each team awarded 2 points and games deemed to be won 6 – 0.
20.       WRU Disciplinary Procedures will be enforced throughout the Festival. Referees will issue yellow and red cards. Players receiving a yellow card will be “sinned binned” for 5 minutes (excluding half time break). A player who receives a red card will not be allowed to participate in the remainder of the Festival.
