South Gower Match Report

Mumbles 10 : South Gower 5
Well what can I say - it all came together for the Predators today. So many highlights to talk about. Lots of tries (as below) but what was particularly pleasing was some great work in the centre of the park.

Well done to Rhys Morgan for some excellent running forward and straightening up the line several times which later resulted in a try. Rhys Taylor had some great runs today and unselfishly passed twice to set up two tries. Josa had a 3/4 pitch run, some great tagging and was very unlucky not to score on his birthday. Happy Birthday Josa! Oliver showed his skills running with 'both hands on the ball' and helped setting up a try by passing to Ethan without being tagged.

Well done James P and James B for what I can only describe as some great pressure tags from every kick off. Ethan scored a well rewarded try after some great support play throughout the game. Some tremendous runs from Louis gave him the space to bag 5 tries for the Predators.

Tries: Louis 5; James P. 3; Ethan 1; Rhys M. 1.

However, the most impressive work today was the 'team effort'. Our fantastic tagging was ultimately the deciding factor of Mumbles winning the game.
There were 8 'man of the match' awards today!
Well done from Coach Jon (blog), Tony(on field) & Dave(subs).

Note to parents - Mums and Dads we have done quite well over the last 2 years with regards to finances, however we have a small overdraft after the Xmas period. Following the last Mums and Dads meeting it was agreed that we contribute £10 per player in order to start an account to pay for some team sundries. Please, if you haven't already, can you pass the contribution to Tim (Rhys Taylor's Dad/Treasurer) or Tracy. This will give us a little kick-start account. For next year both Penny (Louis's Mum) and Spencer (Joshua's Dad) have agreed to help with some fundraising for new kit etc. However, we will probably look for a direct debit or standing order of circa £5/month per player next season. Hope this is all OK. Any questions please do not hesitate to speak to me, Jon.
